You believe it’ll work out.
You focus on the light.
You choose the good.
You speak hope into the hard moments.

That’s optimism.
And it’s powerful.

But sometimes, that light
starts to feel like a spotlight you can’t step out of.

And the shadows you’re avoiding?
They don’t disappear — they just hide behind your smile.

There’s a thin line.

Optimism is rooted in trust.
Bypassing is rooted in fear of discomfort.

Optimism says:

Even in pain, I believe there’s more ahead.
Bypassing says:
I’d rather not feel the pain at all.

Optimism sees what’s real and chooses to keep going.
Bypassing denies what’s real and calls it “high vibration.”

Optimism includes grief.
Bypassing skips it.

You say:

  • “It’s all happening for a reason.”
  • “Good vibes only.”
  • “Let’s not dwell on the negative.”

And maybe that’s true.

But ask:

  • Am I staying in the light — or hiding in it?
  • Am I choosing perspective — or avoiding truth?
  • Am I actually healing — or just staying on-brand?

Optimism expands you.
Bypassing flattens your full range.

This is the Cushy way.
Light that includes the dark.
Hope that holds honesty.
Truth without pretending.

You can look toward the sun
and still name the storm.
