Thin Line 17: Minimalism vs Disconnection

You start letting go.
Clothes.
Clutter.
Conversations that don’t serve you.

It feels light.
Clean.
Intentional.

But somewhere in the stillness,
you stop feeling connected —
to people,
to joy,
to emotion.

And suddenly the simplicity starts to feel hollow.

There’s a thin line.

Minimalism is clarity.
Disconnection is escape.

Minimalism says:

I’m choosing what matters.
Disconnection says:
I’m cutting ties so I don’t feel too much.

Minimalism clears space.
Disconnection clears meaning.

Minimalism slows you down to connect deeper.
Disconnection slows you down to avoid depth.

You say:

  • “I just want less.”
  • “I’m protecting my peace.”
  • “I’m done with all the noise.”

But ask:

  • Am I removing clutter — or removing feeling?
  • Am I choosing peace — or avoiding vulnerability?
  • Am I simplifying — or slowly disappearing?

There’s power in stillness.
There’s truth in less.
But if your life starts feeling too quiet to feel alive
you might not be simplifying.
You might be silencing.

This is the Cushy way.
Less with presence.
Space with meaning.
Peace without detachment.

Clear the noise.
But keep the hum of your heart.
